Uzm. Dt. Buse KARATAY ŞİBAL is a Specialist in Prosthodontics who accepts patients at her private clinic in Bayraklı, İzmir.

Her most frequently performed treatments include smile design and its related applications, such as porcelain veneers, zirconia crowns, and implant-supported dental and prosthetic restorations.

EDUCATION AND SPECIALISATION

Buse Karatay Şibal completed her secondary education at Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School and began studying dentistry at Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry, her first-choice university. After five years of intensive theoretical and practical education, she graduated with the title of Dentist.

She then passed the Dentistry Specialisation Examination (DUS) and began her specialist training in the Department of Prosthodontics at Ege University Faculty of Dentistry.

She completed her specialist thesis titled “Finite Element Analysis of Stress Distribution in Short Implant-Supported Single-Unit Restorations Restored with Different Abutment Materials in the Mandibular Posterior Region” and completed her training as a Specialist in Prosthodontics.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Throughout her professional career, she has worked at various private clinics in Ankara, Istanbul and İzmir.

Having worked in the field of health tourism for an extended period, Buse Karatay Şibal has managed the treatment processes of patients from many different countries. She has developed clinical experience with patients with diverse needs and gained valuable expertise in personalised treatment planning.

TREATMENT APPROACH

With extensive experience in different areas of prosthodontics, Buse Karatay Şibal currently focuses particularly on smile design with porcelain veneers, smile design with zirconia crowns and implant-supported prosthetic treatments.

She believes that every patient has unique needs. Therefore, she evaluates aesthetic expectations, masticatory function, existing teeth and gum health together to create personalised treatment plans.

SCIENTIFIC PRESENTATIONS AND PUBLICATIONS

She delivered an oral presentation on implantology at the 1st National Congress of the Young Dentists Association.

She presented a written paper on combined adhesive and tooth-supported anterior restorations at the International İZDO Scientific Congress and Exhibition.

She contributed to a scientific publication on treatment approaches applied in a clinic established during the COVID-19 pandemic.
